FROM OUR PRESIDENT, DAVE JONES - A CALL TO ACTION

“Will God answer my prayers?” “Does anyone care about me and my kids?” “Will we be able to keep our house or stay in this apartment?” “Will there be enough food and heat for the children?” These are haunting questions from desperate people during challenging times. These are some of the thoughts and worries that echo in the minds of widows served by the James 1:27 Foundation. Certainly we live in tough economic times, but most of our difficulties pale in comparison to what these poor ladies and children face day in and day out. So will God answer their prayers? Count on it. I know the Lord is faithful. And I also know that He works in mysterious ways to meet our needs… from fig leaves to manna to never-ending olive oil...by multiplying fish and bread….and even through the kindness of strangers. The Lord hears the prayers of those less fortunate….and He hears them now. In John 13:35, Jesus says, “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one for another.” It’s one thing to say we love others, and another thing entirely when we show it! You may have little to give this year, but sometimes small gifts can make the biggest differences. Look what Jesus did when someone said, “There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?” Notice that He didn’t ask the owner of the fish market to feed the 5000...He used the meager offering of a little boy. So please act while their needs are fresh on your mind. Consider a donation no matter the size, or read about the Widow’s Table and take on a specific need shared by a widow. Do something great with whatever you can spare and watch what God can do with it! Over the last 9 years, the James 1:27 Foundation has witnessed many miracles inspired by God, but coming through the generous hands and hearts of people like you. These are wonderful ladies and children who have been touched by tragedy...now we can touch them with love. You will make a difference! Thank you and God Bless.
